SEPARATELY, 3 LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN OTHER KENTUCKY COUNTY JURISDICTIONS (1 IN GRANT COUNTY, 1 IN MARTIN COUNTY, AND 1 IN PIKE COUNTY). ALSO A FORT GAY, WEST VIRGINIA RESIDENT WAS ALSO ARRESTED IN PIKE COUNTY, KY.
PREVIOUSLY, FROM 12:00 A.M., AUGUST 13, THRU TO 11:59 P.M. AUGUST 31, 2021, (19 DAYS); AT LEAST 221 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, AND MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED, AND WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE. OUT OF THOSE 221 ARRESTS, 34 ARRESTS WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY. SEPARATELY, 9 LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN OTHER KENTUCKY COUNTY JURISDICTIONS (5 IN JOHNSON COUNTY, 3 IN MARTIN COUNTY, AND 1 IN CARTER COUNTY). IN ADDITION, A LAWRENCE COUNTY MAN WHO WAS ARRESTED IN LAWRENCE COUNTY WAS WANTED ON A FUGITIVE WARRANT OUT OF COOPER COUNTY, MISSOURI; AND A LAWRENCE COUNTY WOMAN WHO WAS ARRESTED IN LAWRENCE COUNTY WAS WANTED ON A WARRANT IN GREENUP COUNTY, KY.
AT 6:00 A.M. MONDAY MORNING, SEPTEMBER 20; THERE WERE A TOTAL OF 210 INMATES BEING HOUSED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE, KENTUCKY. ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND-SATURDAY NIGHT, SEPTEMBER 4; THERE WAS AS HIGH AS 240 INMATES BEING HELD AT THE BSRDC, EVEN THOUGH THE FACILITY HAS A DESIGNATED MAXIMUM CAPACITY TO HOLD OF FOR 225 INMATES.
