FROM 12:01 A.M., OCTOBER 1 THRU TO 8:00 P.M., OCTOBER 200, (19 & 1/3 DAYS) THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 172 PEOPLE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, AND MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED, AND WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE.
29 OF THOSE ARRESTS WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY.
SEPARATELY, EIGHT LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN OTHER KY. COUNTIES JURISDICTIONS (1 IN BOYD COUNTY, 1 IN PIKE COUNTY, 3 IN MARTIN COUNTY, AND 3 IN JOHNSON COUNTY).
PREVIOUSLY, FROM 12:01 A.M., SEPTEMBER 20 THRU TO 11:59 P.M., SEPTEMBER 30, (11 DAYS) THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 76 PEOPLE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, AND MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED, AND WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE. 12 OF THOSE ARRESTS WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY. Jeffery B. Marcum, 35, of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested in Martin County,on October 5,2020, at 8:17 P.M.,by deputy David Adams, of the Martin County Sheriff Department,& was charged with:
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/ POSSESS.
According to the arrest citation report, deputy David Adams wrote that Jeffrey Marcum was a passenger on an ATV when the driver was arrested, and that Jeffrey Marcum dropped a syringe behind him.
Samuel Martin Horn, 47, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested in Martin County, on October 7,2020, at 5:33 P.M., by Sheriff John H. Kirk and deputy William Tyler Lafferty, of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE,1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE),
• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
According to the arrest citation report, deputy Lafferty wrote that he assisted Sheriff Kirk on a call about a man passed out on the side of road on Old Route 3. Deputy Lafferty wrote further that two bags of a crystal like substance and one used syringe were found on Samuel Horn, who advised deputy Lafferty and Sheriff Kirk that the substance was meth.
Jimmy D. Maynard, 41, of Louisa, was arrested in Johnson County, on October 7, 2020, at 6:14 A.M., by officer Hutchinson, of the Paintsville Police Department, & was charged with:
• SERVING FOUR BENCH WARRANTS FOR COURT,
• ASSAULT 4TH DEGREE (MINOR INJURY),
• GIVING OFFICER FALSE IDENTIFYING INFORMATION.
Jordon D. Stamperd, 28, of Louisa, was arrested in Pike County, on October 11, 2020, at 1:50 A.M., by trooper Cody Stiltner, of the Kentucky State Police, Post 9-Pikeville, Ky., & was charged with:

Josh Ray, 39, of Louisa, was arrested in Boyd County, on October 1, 2020, by deputy Mark Wheeler, of the Boyd County Sheriff Department, & was charged with:
• TBUT OR DISP AUTO – $500 OR MORE BUT UNDER/$10,000,
• PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER I,
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE),
• CRIMINAL TRESPASSING-3RD DEGREE,
• SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT; afterwards, Josh Ray was transferred from the Boyd County Detention Center in Catlettsburg, Ky., to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Ky., on October 19, 2020, and booked at 5:38 P.M., on for the served court bench warrant from Lawrence County.
