FROM 12;01 A.M., JUNE 25 THRU TO 11:59 P.M. JULY 2, (8 DAYS) THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 76 PEOPLE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, & MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED, AND WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE.
15 OF THOSE ARRESTS WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY.
SEPARATELY, 4 LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN NEIGHBORING COUNTIES (2 IN BOYD COUNTY, AND 2 IN JOHNSON COUNTY).
PREVIOUSLY, FROM JUNE 15 THRU JUNE 24,(10 DAYS) THERE WAS A TOTAL OF 91 PEOPLE ARRESTED FROM JOHNSON, LAWRENCE, MAGOFFIN, & MARTIN COUNTIES COMBINED THAT WERE BOOKED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE.
THE INMATE NUMBER COUNT HAS BEEN GOING SLOWLY UP STEADILY AT THE BSRDC RECENTLY. AS OF 6:00 A.M., FRIDAY DAY JULY 3, THERE WERE 154 INMATES BEING HOUSED AT THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE. IT WAS UP AT TO 158 EARLIER THIS WEEK. EIGHT DAYS AGO IT WAS AT 145; AND UP FROM ITS LOW OF 120 INMATES AT THE END OF MAY INTO THE BEGINNING OF JUNE.
HERE ARE THE LATEST FIFTEEN ARRESTED IN LAWRENCE COUNTY, ALONG WITH THE FOUR OUT OF COUNTY ARRESTED, ARE AS THE FOLLOWING:
Timothy S. Harper, 19, of Louisa; was arrested on June 25, 2020, at 12:25 P.M. , by court security officer Melody Salyers, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with, via a grand jury indictment:
• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500,
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE).
Willie C. Green, 35, of Blaine,Kentucky; was arrested on June 25,2020,at 12:33 P.M.,by court security officer Melody Salyers,of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department,and was charged with, via a grand jury indictment:
• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (< 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE)
Emily Grace Quaine, 20, of Pikeville, Kentucky; was arrested on June 25, 2020, at 11:27 P.M., by Trooper Daniel G. Vossmer, of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with:
• SPEEDING 26 MPH OR > SPEED LIMIT,
• RECKLESS DRIVING,
• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (METHAMPHETAMINE),

Melinda M. Wallace, 40, of Louisa; was arrested on June 25, 2020, at 11:35 P.M., by detective Hunter James, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:
• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (< 10 D.U. DRUG UNSPECIFIED SCHEDULE 1 & 2),

Brandi Chambers. 40, of Clifford, Kentucky; was arrested on June 26, 2020, at 10:23 A.M.,by patrolman officer Teddy B. Newsome, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:

Bradley E. Parsley, 42, of Louisa, was arrested on June 28, 2020,at 12:23 P.M.,by patrolman officer Teddy B. Newsome, of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with:

Paul Wesley Tipton, 32, of Flat Gap, Kentucky; was arrested on June 29,2020, at 7:14 P.M., by Trooper Forrest Newsome, of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with:

Brandy Perkins, 38, of Nicholasville, Kentucky; was arrested on July 2, 2020, at 11:04 P.M.,by detective Hunter James, of the Louisa Police Department,& was charged with:
• UNAUTHORIZED USE OF MOTOR VEHICLE-1ST OFFENSE,
• ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (CHILD ABUSE).

Nigel Cade Sparks, 34, of Louisa, was arrested in Boyd County, Ky., on June 26, 2020, at 4:12 A.M.,by Trooper Daniel G. Vossmer, of the Kentucky State Police-Post 14-Ashland, Ky., and was charged with:

Brenda Joyce Shannon, 39, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested in Boyd County, Ky., on June 28, 2020, at 6:23 P.M., by deputy Zachary Mitchell, of the Boyd CountyCounty Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER/$10,000.
Brenda Joyce Shannnon’s bail bond is set at $1000 full cash. Brenda Joyce Shannon remains in custody at the Boyd County Detention Center in Catlettsburg, Ky.
Robin A. Smith, 54, of Louisa,Kentucky; was arrested in Johnson County, Ky., on July 1, 2020, at 4:12 P.M., by deputy Jeffrey R. Castle, of the Johnson County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:
• PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL),
• CRIMINAL TRESPASS-1ST DEGREE.
How many times do these people have to be arrested for the same thing before they get a prison sentence? I know there are laws and guidelines to go by but come on. Our judge and court system is a joke. Put these people away for awhile and don’t send them to ARC.
