On Monday November 18, 2019 the Lawrence County Agriculture Investment Program had a meeting at the Lawrence County Cooperative Extension Office. They provided information to Farmers on this program.
This program was made from county funds, from the Tobacco Settlement. It is to give Farmers who lost contracts, another avenue to pursue. Farmers owning 10 acres of land or more and are 18 years of age or older can submit an application, go through a process and get approved for $8,000.00 . They will receive an 1099 form at the end of the year for tax purposes.
