Huntington, W. Va. — Two Lawrence Co. youth league football teams were crowned Turf bowl champions on Saturday at Joan C. Edwards stadium on the campus of Marshall University.

After trailing at halftime the Bulldogs outscored the Bison 24-0 in the second half to win the Turf bowl behind Colton Bentleys four touchdown day.
On the first play of the game Kane Beckley went 65 yards for a touchdown and it was Buffalo 6-0 with 7:45 left in the first quarter.
After Colton Workman recovered a fumble Colton Bentley went 11 yards for a touchdown and then converted the two point conversion and it was Lawrence Co. 8-6 with 4:33 left before half.
Right before the half Beckley gave the Bison the lead back on a 28 yard TD and then added the two conversion for a 14-8 lead with :33 seconds left in the first half.
In the third quarter the Dawgs took the lead as Bentley found his way into the end zone for a 2 yard TD and then added the two point conversion for a 16-14 lead with 4:42 left in the third period.
Early in the final quarter Bentley scored from 6 yards out to make it 22-14 Lawrence Co. with 7:54 left in the game.
Waylon Raines had fumble recovery to set up Bentley for a 6 yard TD and Bentley hit Tyson Muncy for the two point conversion to make it 30-14 with 4:17 left in the game.
Grayson Blevins had a fumble recovery to seal the victory for the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter.
Douglass-Cammack 38 vs Lawrence Co. 18 ( B team )
After a scoreless first quarter the Express got in the scoreboard first behind a Carter Tubbs 5 yard TD with 4:53 left before half.
On the Bulldogs next possession Lucas Block tied the game up with a nifty 10 yard TD with 1:37 left in the first half.
D-C opened up the third quarter with a Tubbs 8 yard TD with 6:56 left to make it 12-6 Express.
Tubbs added a 61 yard TD with 4:10 left in the third to make it 18-6.
Tubbs scored once again this time from 30 yards out and it was 24-6 with 6:22 left in the game.
Waylon Raines got the Dawgs closer on a 3 yard TD and it was D-C 24-12 with 3:31 left in the game.
On the first play of the next drive Tubbs went 65 yards for a TD to make it 30-12 Express with 3:14 left.
Block raced in from 46 yards out to make it 30-18 with 2:30 left in the game.
On the first play of the next possession Tubbs once again went 65 yards for a TD and then added the two point conversion to set the final score of 38-18.

In the final game of championship Saturday Carson Evans scored three touchdowns to lead the Dawgs to the Turf bowl title.
After a scoreless first quarter Evans had an 80 yard Touchdown to get the scoring started early in the second quarter and then added the two point conversion to give Lawrence Co. a 8-0 lead with 6:57 left in the first half.
Jackson Bartley-Webb had a fumble recovery in the first half and the Dawgs led 8-0 at halftime.
In the third quarter Jace Napier intercepted a pass and Evans made it 14-0 on a 2 yard TD with 1:48 left in the third.
In the fourth Evans scored his third touchdown of the day this time from 7 yards out and then hit Levi Hensley for the two point conversion and it was 22-0 Dawgs with 6:15 left in the ballgame.
Buffalo got on the scoreboard when Beau Beckley hit Dakota Shepherd on a 16 yard TD and Beckley added the two point conversion to set the final score of 22-8
In the first game of the day Ona-Milton beat Barboursville 8-0 in the D team contest.
