Prestonsburg, Ky. — Lawrence Co. ( 27–12 ) will play for a region title after dispatching Belfry 5-1 on Monday night in the semifinals of the 15th Region softball tournament at Stonecrest Sports Complex.
Lawrence. Co. broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the bottom of the third, a run in the fourth and two more runs in the fifth inning.
Belfry ( 20-12 ) scored their lone run of the game in the top of the sixth inning.

Taylor Blevins was once again fabulous in the circle for the Bulldogs tossing a complete game two hitter, striking out three and walking two. She also had two hits offensively.
Bree Jones singled twice and scored once, Gracie Preece doubled and scored a run, Dani Crum singled, scored a run and had one RBI, Kensley Feltner singled and drove in a run, Shelby Blevins singled, Abby Maynard scored once and drove in a run and Emalynn Kitts scored a run.

The Dawgs will face Johnson Central ( 26-9 ) on Wednesday in the title game at 6:00 after the Golden Eagles beat Shelby Valley 7-1 in the first semifinal on Monday.
The two teams met twice in the regular season with Johnson Central winning both games.
On March 20th in Paintsville the Golden Eagles won 8-7 and in Louisa on May 4th 11-1.
The winner will move on to the state tournament and play the winner from Region 9 on Thursday June 1st in Lexington at John Cropp Stadium at 11:00 am.
