Lawrence County school officials announced on Twitter that there will be no school on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025. The closure is in honor of teacher and coach Ryan Sammons who passed away recently and whose funeral is Wednesday.

According to the Twitter post, there are many school employees who plan to attend the services at Louisa First Baptist Church where Sammons was a member of a popular religious music group.
