DRUNK AND ROWDY FOR FIGHTING: DALLAS TURNER CANTRELL.

A Lawrence County, Kentucky man is facing several charges, including second-degree assault, after a recent series of incidents in Johnson County. KY.

According to an arrest citation written by Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy Darvin Marsillett, he wrote that on the early evening of Wednesday, May 13, he responded to a report that Dallas Turner Cantrell, 31, of Collier Creek Road, of Martha, KY., and another man were attempting to fight an individual.

While en route to the caller’s residence, the citation said, deputy Marsillett saw a Ford F-150 pickup truck matching the description of the one involved in the call and conducted a traffic stop on it.

The arrest citation report said deputy Marsillett made contact with Dallas Cantrell, who smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage and would not perform field sobriety tests.

Brian Cantrell, the citation said, became increasingly irate with deputy Marsillett and Paintsville Police Department officer Justin Jackson, threatening to fight both of the officers.

The arrest citation report further said Brian Cantrell became combative and attempted to kick deputy Marsillett when the deputy attempted to get him into a police cruiser.

The arrest report added that Brian Cantrell continued to be combative once in the cruiser, laying across the rear seat and attempting to kick out the window, leading to the deployment of OC pepper spray in order to gain Brian Cantrell’s compliance.

Brian Cantrell was transported to and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville; and deputy Marsilett wrote in the end of the arrest citation report that he returned to the residence, where he learned that Brian Cantrell had attempted to run over one individual with his vehicle and had run over another person’s foot.

Brian Cantrell was charged with:

*OPERATNG MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL .08 (189A.010(1A) – 1ST OFFENSE (AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES);

*FAILURE OF NON-OWNER OPERATOR TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE;
