REBELS HEADING NORTH TO FINISH OUT THE SEASON
Louisville, Ky. — After losing a tie breaker and falling to the #3 Seed in District 6 Lawrence Co. 5-5 overall and 2-2 in district play will make the long trip to Louisville to face #2 Seed in District 3 Waggener 4-6 and 3-1 on Friday night in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs.
The Dawgs had a golden opportunity to wrap up a first round home game against Floyd Central but couldn’t close the deal.
Bulldog QB Noah West is the leading rusher though 8 games this year with 1,354 and 22 touchdowns, Dalton Ferguson 610 yards 7 touchdowns, Ashton Blankenship 487 yards and 5 touchdowns, Trey Dotson 340 yards and 2 touchdowns. West has thrown for 2 touchdowns one to Jaxon Johnson and one to Brad Parks.
For Waggener it is #9 Jarius Brants the do it all senior who is being heavily recruited by all of the big schools including Kentucky and Louisville. Brents plays QB, RB and WR and has amassed 369 yards rushing with 5 touchdowns, 808 yards passing with 10 touchdowns and 1 catch for a 40 yard touchdown. #2 Brandon Jones is the leading rusher with 827 yards and 5 touchdowns, # 12 Marlon Kimble has 552 yards receiving and 9 touchdowns.

“… Our guys are excited to start the playoffs. We look for our team to play our most complete game of the year tomorrow night.
Defensively, we must contain their team speed and keep their players in front of us.
Offensively, we will look to sustain long drives and finish in the end zone.

TOLSIA VS. WILLIAMSTOWN
Tolsia ( 2-7 ) will finish up the season tomorrow night with another long road trip this time at #16 Williamstown ( 4-4 ). The Rebels will be looking to play the role of spoiler and knock the Yellow Jackets out of the playoffs. The two teams met last year at Wilts Salmons field with Williamstown coming away with a victory.
