Stanville, Ky. — Sophie Adkins poured in 25 points to lead Lawrence Co. ( 13-8 ) to a 54-48 District victory over Betsy Layne ( 12-8 ) on Friday night.
Sophie Adkins had a game high 25 points against Betsy Layne Friday.
The Dawgs trailed by six points entering the fourth quarter before rallying from behind with three pointers from Abby Maynard, Leandra Curnutte and Madison Artrip and a huge rebound put back by Jada Patton to complete the comeback.
Adkins was the top scorer with 25 points, Leandra Curnutte tallied 7 points, Abby Nelson and Jada Patton had 6 points each, Abby Maynard netted 5 points, Kaison Ward had 4 points and Madison Artrip chipped in with 3 points.
Lawrence Co. hit 4 three pointers and went 14 of 18 from the free throw line.

In a rematch of last years 15th region championship game the Panthers defended home court.
Jada Patton led the Bulldogs with 14 points, Sophie Adkins tallied 12 points, Leandra Curnutte and Abby Maynard added 7 points each, Kaison Ward netted 3 points and Abby Nelson chipped in with 2 points.
Lawrence Co. hit 2 three pointers and went 8 of 11 from the free throw line.
Lawrence Co. will play for the #1 seed in the 58th District tournament at Floyd Central ( 9-12 ) on Tuesday night at 6:00
