Louisa, Ky. — Second year head coach Sonny Mynhier thinks the Lawrence Co. Girls soccer team will be much improved in 2025.

The SoccerDawgs went 4-10-1 last season and were upended in the first round of the 15th Region tournament by Martin County.

The squad lost goalie Abby Maynard who will be playing collegiately at Alice Lloyd this season and will replace her with three sport star Emalynn Kitts who is a sophomore, Junior Dakota Thornsbury is the team’s leading returning scorer, Senior Molly McClanahan scored 6 goals last year, Junior Angel Perry and Sophomore Elle Parsley scored 3 goals each in 2024.

The Dawgs will open the season at home against West Carter on Tuesday at 6:00 before traveling to Belfry for a 6:00 game on Thursday.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Sonny Mynhier

COACH’S COMMENTS

“…This is going to be an exciting year for the lady bulldogs soccer program! We have mentioned prior that last year was a learning year with lots of “new” that the girls had to learn to get where we wanted to be.

“…The learning stage is over and now it’s time to put it into action.

“…With our returning girls having worked hard since the beginning of last season, some new talent joining and upcoming Freshmen this year, I believe these girls are really going to impress some people and start getting noticed for the talent they truly have!”
