The Lawrence County Extension Office, along with surrounding County Extension Offices held a county-wide scavenger hunt during the month of August. The extension office hid posters of #whereswallycat around local businesses each week and parents and children would find him and take a picture with him and submit it. A clue was offered of Wally’s location every week by visiting the Lawrence County Extension Office’s FB page on Fridays.
The winners of the scavenger hunt were William Farley, Aubry Anna Mckinster, and Emily Whalen. A thank-you to all who participated in this activity!
This is just one of the many different programs offered by the Extension Office. They are offering a virtual Food Preservation Workshop, it will be four different classes, one each week. They will be having a drawing for a free Pressure Canner at the end of the workshop. For more details visit their FB page. They offered mini virtual 4-H camps, classes on Dining with Diabetes and many more. This is a way of staying connected with each other while social distancing.
