Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. ( 4-3 ) finally got to play in front of the home fans and they didn’t disappoint with a 6-2 victory over Knott Co. Central ( 4-2 ) Friday night.

Boedy Maynard fires a pitch plateward in the Dawgs home opener.
Junior Boedy Maynard went five innings, gave up 1 run, 3 hits and struck out 4 Patriots to get the win.
Junior Braxton Davis went one inning, gave up 1 run, struck out 2 and allowed 1 hit. Senior Logan Whisenant pitched the seventh to get the save.

Offensively Senior Cam Perkins went 3-3 with a single, double and a triple, drove in a run and scored two runs, Senior Eli Fletcher had a double that scored three runs, Freshman Gray Derifield singled, drove in one and scored a run, Seniors Tygar Cavins and Whisenant singled and scored a run each, Freshman CJ Whitt had 1 rbi and scored a run.
Eli Fletcher cleared the bases with a double down the left field line.
The Dawgs will head to Tennessee for Spring Break and play four games in the Knoxville area.
On Wednesday they will play Knoxville Catholic at 6:30, on Thursday at 5:00 vs Fulton and 7:00 vs Halls. And finish up the trip on Friday at 3:30 vs Independence ( W.Va. ).
