WITH CONFUSION ABOUNDING IN THE 24 JUDICIAL DISTRICT EACH CIRCUIT CLERK’S OFFICE IS WRANGLING WITH DRIVERS LICENSE DELIVERY.
We asked Lawrence Circuit Clerk Jodi Parsley for sort of a ‘state of the office’ comment and here is what we got:
“…These are trying times and very stressful on everyone. We are currently working under the guidelines that the Supreme Court has ordered. 50/50 staffing which makes it really difficult but we are staying positive and working as hard as we can to keep up with the work load.
The latest Supreme Court Order has given all Circuit Clerks temporary COVID hours to give clerks & deputies the opportunity to complete court work each day. So, hours for the public are 9am to 3pm. However, all judicial buildings are still only open to persons who are on the docket for court, driver’s license appointments, and records review is also only by appointment.
-We are currently making appointments for some driver’s license situations. (Transfers from another county or state, new identification cards, CDL license, reinstatements) Those appointments are made through a scheduler that is on kycourts.gov. Also, anyone whose license (not CDL, transfers, reinstatements) expires 03/01/20 through 09/30/20 must use the form TC94-101 which is also found on kycourts.gov. They complete the form, sign, enclose their money and either mail to my office or drop it in the drop box located next to the front door of the judicial building. We then process the renewal or duplicate license and mail their license to them. This has been a safe blessing and a convenience for the public.
-All driver license testing was temporarily out of county, but should begin in Lawrence County this Friday and every Friday after that. Anyone needing to take a road or written exam must call the Kentucky State Police at 606-671-7618 to schedule their appointment. Also, it is VERY importation that they refer to drive.ky.gov for all required documentation due on their testing date. Failure to provide proper documents will delay testing to a new appointment date & time.”
