There is sure to be something for all ages along the Heritage Harvest Tour. Tour takers can view working farms, purchase apple butter, other home-made goods, quilts, and crafts; even take a walk through a corn maze! Be sure to come hungry, Fall favorites will be available, chili, chicken & dumplings, beef stew, barbeque, and much more, not mention the huge selection of desserts, apple butter, sorghum, jellies, etc. Some stops will be offering breakfast. The kids can enjoy a free petting zoo and pony rides will be available for $2.00.
This is 9th year for the tour, Jerrie Cossett, owner of Kentucky Roots has been doing “Autumn on the Farm” for 10 years. After having such a big turn-out at her event, she approached the Lawrence County Extension Office about doing a bigger event and inviting other farms to participate. From that the Heritage Harvest Tour grew to where it is today. All stops are a must! The tour is extended for two days so you won’t miss anything!
To get a brochure with the map of the tour you can drop by the Lawrence County Extension Office, Vinson Museum, and several other businesses around town. If you can’t find one, call the Extension Office and they will make sure you get one.
