4.A.1. Dr. Fletcher completed service as chair of the Appalachia Regional Advisory Committee, as appointed by US Secretary of Education Dr. Miguel A. Cardona. (A 45-page document was submitted with 5 recommended priority needs for Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
4.A.2. Dr. Fletcher recently attended the Superintendent Advisory Council, KEDC Board, KASA Coalition, and legislative meetings over the past week.
4.A.3. Dr. Fletcher has been invited to attend a reception for the Kentucky Senate Majority Caucus that will be hosted by the University of Pikeville.
4.A.4. Mrs. Webb recently attended an iLead event in Northern Kentucky with the intent of adding a computer science pathway in our school system.
4.A.5. Mrs. Brady and Mrs. Webb have been working on partnerships with The Jordan Center and the University of Kentucky to add opportunities for our nursing and dentistry pathways.
4.A.6. Dr. Fletcher recommends that the Board put the nickel tax discussions on hold with the latest election results.
4.A.7. Central office staff members have completed hours of research and are recommending a new salary schedule for the remainder of our classified employees tonight. (Thank you to each for their hard work, including Mrs. Prince, Mr. Burns, Mrs. Peters, Mrs. Adkins, and others.)

If the board of education would raise taxes to make up for the failed Double Nickel Tax, that would be taxation without representation. Lawrence County voters have spoken, twice.
Just sayin.
You didn’t seem too upset when the Library board did this very same thing! And built that huge, unneeded building in the middle of town, and still have $6 million of our dollars in a bank somewhere that they won’t disclose where.
A new elementary school is needed. That huge library is not.
At least you get to vote on the members of the school board. They are your representatives, and you voted for them, since they had no one to run against them. The library board is appointed, so they don’t need a vote from you. They can do whatever they want.

Teachers need a pay raise or we are going to lose more teachers! Just sayin!
They are over paid as it is.
Teacher are not overpaid. We rank near the bottom nationally and right ant the bottom in the state. Administration, that’s a different story.
