Lawrence Baseball and Softball are ready for the 15th Region Tournaments on Monday, MEMORIAL DAY

Prestonsburg, Ky. — The 15th Region Baseball and Softball Tournaments will get underway on Monday morning at Stonecrest Sports Park. 

The defending 15th region champion Lawrence Co. Bulldogs ( 21-7 ) will play at Noon against Pikeville ( 13-18 ) to open up the tournament. The two teams met on April 18th in Louisa with the Bulldogs winning 16-1 in three innings. 

 

Bulldog Seniors Abby Maynard, Bree Jones, Gracie Preece are poised for another state tournament appearance beginning Monday versus Pikeville. 

The second game of the day will pit 57th District champ Johnson Central ( 25-11 ) versus 60th runner-up Belfry ( 15-9 ) at 2:00. 

The third game of the day it will be 59th District champ Shelby Valley ( 14-18 ) versus 57th runner-up Paintsville ( 11-16 ) at 4:00. 

In the final game of the day 60th District champion Pike Co. Central ( 20-15 ) will play 58th runner-up Floyd Central ( 16-11 ) at 6:00. 

The semifinals are slated for 6:00 and 8:00 on Tuesday night. 

The Championship game is scheduled for Thursday at 6:00. 

The 15th Region Champion will play on Friday June 6th against the Region 1 Champ at John Cropp Stadium on the campus of the University of Kentucky. 

Bulldog Seniors 

#9 Colin Howard, #10 Logan Whisenant, #17 Cam Perkins, #3 Eli Fletcher, #19 Tygar Cavins are ready to lead the Dawgs back to the state tourney beginning Monday against Paintsville. 

The Lawrence Co. Baseball squad who won the 58th District ( 21-10 ) will play the second game at 1:00 on Monday versus 57th runner-up Paintsville ( 25-8 ). The two teams didn’t meet in the regular season this year. 

The first game of the tournament will pit 59th District champ Pikeville ( 15-14 ) versus 60th runner-up Belfry ( 19-9 ) at 10:00 in the morning. 

At 4:00 it will be 57th District champ Johnson Central ( 26-7 ) against 59th runner-up Shelby Valley ( 6-22 ). 

In the final game on Monday 60th District champion Pike Co. Central ( 22-11 ) versus 58th runner-up Floyd Central ( 19-13 ) at 7:00. 

The semifinals are slated for 6:00 and 8:00 on Tuesday night. 

The Championship game is scheduled for Thursday at 6:00. 

The 15th Region Champion will play on Friday June 6th against the winner of the 8th Region Champion at Kentucky Proud Park on the campus of the University of Kentucky.
