A Lawrence County Grand Jury met on August 8, 2024 and issued the following criminal indictments:

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Keith Wiley

The Grand Jury charges: that on or about April 12, 2024, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

1. Keith Wiley committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Joseph Chapman

The Grand Jury charges: that on or about June 14, 2024, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

1. Joseph Chapman committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Ruger brand .22 caliber handgun after having been previously convicted of a felony, Boyd Circuit Court, 19-CR-00520.

2. Joseph Chapman committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

3. The above-named Defendant committed the offense of Operating a Motor Vehicle on Suspended or Revoked License by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle while his license to operate said motor vehicle had been suspended or revoked.

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Taylor Mills

The Grand Jury charges: that on or about May 7, 2024, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

1. Taylor Mills committed the offense of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon by being in possession of a Hi-Point .380 caliber handgun after having been previously convicted of a felony, Lawrence Circuit Court, 20-CR-00059 and Martin Circuit Court, 18-CR-00119.

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. John New

The Grand Jury charges: that on or about May 21, 2024, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

1. John New acting alone or in complicity with Brittany Preece and Amber Block committed the offense Importing Fentanyl by knowingly and unlawfully transporting Fentanyl into the Commonwealth by any means with the intent to sell or distribute the Fentanyl .

2. John New acting alone or in complicity with Brittany Preece and Amber Block committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree-Cocaine by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Cocaine.

3. John New acting alone or in complicity with Brittany Preece and Amber Block committed the offense of Possession/Use Drug Paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a glass smoking pipe containing chemical residue, and an altered aluminum foil container containing chemical residue.

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Amber Block

The Grand Jury charges: that on or about May 21, 2024, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

1. Amber Block acting alone or in complicity with Brittany Preece and John New committed the offense Importing Fentanyl by knowingly and unlawfully transporting Fentanyl into the Commonwealth by any means with the intent to sell or distribute the Fentanyl .

2. Amber Block acting alone or in complicity with Brittany Preece and John New committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree-Cocaine by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Cocaine.

3. Amber Block acting alone or in complicity with Brittany Preece and John New committed the offense of Possession/Use Drug Paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a glass smoking pipe containing chemical residue, and an altered aluminum foil container containing chemical residue.

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Brittany Preece

The Grand Jury charges: that on or about May 21, 2024, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

1. Brittany Preece acting alone or in complicity with Amber Block and John New committed the offense Importing Fentanyl by knowingly and unlawfully transporting Fentanyl into the Commonwealth by any means with the intent to sell or distribute the Fentanyl .

2. Brittany Preece acting alone or in complicity with Amber Block and John New committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree-Cocaine by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Cocaine.

3. Brittany Preece acting alone or in complicity with Amber Block and John New committed the offense of Possession/Use Drug Paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a glass smoking pipe containing chemical residue, and an altered aluminum foil container containing chemical residue.

4 The above named defendant committed the violation of No Operators License by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle while not having a valid operator’s license.

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Rachel McCoy

The Grand Jury charges: that on or about July 21, 2024, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

1. Rachel McCoy committed the offense of Burglary in the 3rd Degree by knowingly and unlawfully entering and remaining in the building owned and operated by Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) located at 107 South Main Cross Street in Louisa, Kentucky, with the intent to commit the crime of theft therein.

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Joshua Ratliff

The Grand Jury charges: that on or about July 18, 2024, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

1. Joshua Ratliff acting alone or in complicity with Nicole Jude committed the offense of Burglary in the 2nd Degree by knowingly and unlawfully entering and remaining in a dwelling house of Joseph Jude, located on Gene Wilson Boulevard in Louisa, Kentucky, with the intent to commit the crime of theft therein.

2. That the Defendant, having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count (s), is now being charged as a Persistent Felony Offender, in the 2nd Degree.

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Nicole Jude

The Grand Jury charges: that on or about July 18, 2024, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

1. Nicole Jude acting alone or in complicity with Joshua Ratliff committed the offense of Burglary in the 2nd Degree by knowingly and unlawfully entering and remaining in a dwelling house of Joseph Jude, located on Gene Wilson Boulevard in Louisa, Kentucky, with the intent to commit the crime of theft therein.
