COACH’S COMMENTS
“… Great team effort to get the win and that is what it’s going to take moving forward. Everybody has a role, they care about each other and they play hard for each other. I’ve got a senior in Kilee Preece coming off the bench giving good minutes. Greenlee Vance hit a big three and Peyton Johnson gave us good minutes as well. Everyone has bout in and it is survive and advance.”
“… We only had 5 turnovers and that was a key factor in the win. We have to continue taking care of the basketball, rebound and play defense. Also want to mention the crowd tonight, Rebel Arena was rockin’, not sure if it was the old days but it can be these days and we sure appreciate everyone coming out. We went around after the game and thanked the crowd and I’m not sure we have ever done that. These girls play so hard and I think the crowd sure appreciates that from the orange and blue.”
“… It was great and really good victory. This team won 12 games in the regular season and played one of the tougher schedules in Class A. Played two defending state Champs in Gilmer Co. and Wayne, Class A runner-up Tug Valley home and away, battle tested and think it has paid off. We have a huge task in front of us but it’s one game not the best of five. If you don’t believe you can’t accomplish anything. I appreciate the parents, the community and everyone that has supported this season. Been a pleasure to be on this ride.”
