Paintsville, Ky. — Lawrence Co. girls ( 7-8 ) won their second consecutive game after a 67-51 victory over Paintsville ( 6-10 ) on Tuesday.

The Dawgs trailed early before going on a nice run to take a 31-28 lead at halftime behind 13 points from Sophie Adkins.
In the third quarter Lawrence Co. outscored the Tigers 20-9 to take control of the game.
#41 Jada Patton scored 17 second half points against Paintsville
Adkins finished the game with 26 points including 4 three pointers, Jada Patton tallied 17 points all in the second half, Caroline See added 10 points, Gracie Woods netted 6 points, Maddison Artrip and Emalynn Kitts scored 3 points each, Abby Maynard chipped in with 2 points.
The Bulldogs connected on 8 three pointers and went 13 of 21 at the free throw line.
Paintsville was led by Kylie Kinner with 26 points, Brooklyn Skaggs had 7 points, Emma Keeton 6 points, McKinley Ramey 5 points, Addison Helton 4 points, Annabelle Blankenship 2 points, Eliza Howard had 1 point.
The Lady Tigers hit 5 three pointers and went 18 of 28 from the free throw line.

“… Proud of our girls for how they responded in the second half. We haven’t put a half together this year so when we do, we are going to be a really good team. We are having other players step up and that’s helping us to get better.”
