When you think about soccer, think LCHS girls…
When you think about LC soccer, think about the Lawrence County High School Girls Team. Since their formation in 2009, they have built a legacy for future teams to uphold and have accomplished big things in their nine year existence. They have won seven District Championships, four Regional Championships, had four State Sweet Sixteen appearances and have been to the State Elite Eight three times.
The LCHS Girls Soccer Team have always been a close-knit group of players and friends. Each year they have team bonding activities in the summer to help the new players get acquainted with the returning players. The Team tie-dyes shirts, has a neighborhood scavenger hunt, has sleepovers, go out to eat together as well as make and deliver salads for their salad sale fundraisers.
Last Friday, June 15th was tie-dye night, but before they got started they added a short trip North on US 23 to present Plant Manager Steve Greene and the rest of the staff at Riverside Generating with a “Thank You” ball for their generous donation. The plant made a one time $1,000 donation this year to help send these talented young ladies to Morehead State University summer soccer team camp AND put in place an annual $1,500 donation to help send them to camp in the future, purchase equipment or use for other team necessities each year.
Riverside Generating will have a banner placed on the LC Soccer field so our community and visiting teams know that they are proud LC supporters. Thanks again to Riverside Generating for being “all in LC!”
