KENTUCKY STATE POLICE INVESTIGATES FATAL COLLISION ON US 60 IN CARTER COUNTY

Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Collision on US 60 in Carter County

OLIVE HILL, Ky. (January 17, 2025) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 14 responded to a single-vehicle collision on US 60 near Fleming Fork in Carter County. The incident occurred on January 16, 2025, at approximately 1:14 p.m.

The preliminary investigation determined that Daniel Stone, 38, was traveling east on US-60 when a tree fell onto his 2011 Chevrolet Silverado. Mr. Stone was ejected after making contact with the fallen tree. Mr. Stone was the only occupant and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Carter County Coroner’s Office.

KSP Post 14 Troopers were assisted at the scene by Carter County EMS and the Carter County Coroner’s Office. Detective Nathan Carter is leading the ongoing investigation.
