BOTH POLICE SHOOTINGS HAPPENED JUST A LITTLE OVER FOUR HOURS APART ON SUNDAY EVENING, OCTOBER 17
The Kentucky State Police are continuing their investigations into two separate police shootings that occcured during this past late weekend in two northeastern Kentucky counties.
In the first police shooting case, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been requested by the Boyd County Sheriff’s Office to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred on October 15, 2023, at approximately 6:30 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, on Twin Fork Road, in Boyd County. KSP CIRT responded to the scene and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
An unidentified male subject was transported to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the Commonwealth as requested by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Meanwhile in the second case just a few hours later, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 6 in Dry Ridge, located in Grant County, KY., were requested by the Paris Police Department to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred on October 15, 2023, at approximately 10:45 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, on North Middletown Road, in Bourbon County. Investigators from KSP Post 6 Dry Ridge responded to the scene and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
