Kentucky State Police Ashland Post 14 Traffic Safety Checkpoint Announcement
ASHLAND, Ky. (November 2, 2022)– The Kentucky State Police (KSP), Ashland, Post14, which provides coverage for Boyd, Carter, Greenup and Lawrence counties, will be conducting periodic traffic safety checkpoints as approved by the Kentucky State Police Policy and Procedures Manual. These checkpoints will be conducted in an effort to enforce the traffic laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
The Kentucky State Police utilizes traffic safety checkpoints to promote safety for motorists using the public roadways and to provide a deterrent for those who violate laws contained in the Kentucky Revised Statutes.

Checkpoints are annoying, but necessary I guess with all the druggies and drunks.
As for speed traps…. There are speed limits for a reason. Obey them to keep our families safe. Officers shouldn’t even have to ticket us and tell us to slow down. It’s common sense. That being said, cops are some of the worst there are for speeding unnecessarily.
Where? By the guidelines there needs to be signage, a signed plan of hours of operation and a supervisor on sight.
