Kentucky State Police Arrest Juvenile For School Threats
GRAYSON, Ky. (January 31, 2024) – On January 31, 2024, The Kentucky State Police were contacted by the FBI regarding a threat made by a juvenile towards East Carter High School.
The Kentucky State Police conducted an investigation and successfully identified and made contact with the juvenile. During the interview, the juvenile admitted to making the threat on a social media application. As a result, the juvenile was arrested and taken to the Boyd County Juvenile Detention Center.
The suspect was later transported to the Breathitt County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with Terroristic Threatening 2nd Degree. The Kentucky State Police collaborated with the Carter County School District Police and the Carter County Court Designated Worker throughout the investigation.
Measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of students and staff, including increased law enforcement presence.
