Kentucky Power Winter Storm Blair Restoration – Final Update

January 8, 2025, 10:00 a.m.

Summary
Winter Storm Blair impacted eastern Kentucky on Sunday and Monday causing significant damages in Kentucky Power’s service area leaving 10,735 customers without power at the peak of the storm. Nearly 1,000 Kentucky Power personnel, business partners and external resources worked together to restore power.

Restoration

Crews are completing work this morning to restore power for fewer than 1,000 customers who were affected by storm outages. That work is expected to be completed by this afternoon. Replacements required due to storm damages include 27 crossarms, 33 poles and 401 spans of wire. Outages unrelated to the storm event continue to be reported across Kentucky Power’s territory as wintry weather conditions continue.
