As of 02/25/2021, The Lawrence County Fiscal Court along with the LC Emergency Management aided both County and City residents and others whom were in need of assistance ( no one was turned away) by providing food, fuel for generators, refilling propane canisters, providing cases of drinking water, warming shelters at our Community Center, Fallsburg Community Center and other locations. We provided kerosene, food, loaned generators to residents with oxygen, medical conditions, small children and also picked up medicines to deliver to those that couldn’t get out to get them.
Approximately 7,665 gallons of Kerosene was distributed;
Over 1,000 gallons of Fuel for generators;
Had large deployment of National Guard units to help cut and remove debris and do welfare checks on residents;
Gave over 20,000 lbs. of food to those in need;
Refilled and provided over 1,000 bottles of Propane.
We are so thankful for the assistance of the National Guard, Red Cross, Ray of Hope, Salvation Army, Nazarene Church, Appalachian Reach Out, CAP, and so many wonderful volunteers, non-profits and wonderful people that helped during our Ice Storm Disaster.
