Joseph Atwood Halfhill, Jr., 60, of Blaine, KY went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
Joe was born December 17, 1964 in Lexington, KY to the late Joseph Atwood and Elnora Fay (Morgan) Atwood.
Joe was a kind-hearted and loving man, known for his infectious laugh that could fill a room. He cherished his family deeply and found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time outdoors, appreciating nature, and caring for animals. A talented craftsman, he enjoyed building and painting models, woodworking, target shooting, and gunsmithing. Traveling and exploring new places brought him great happiness.
A dedicated educator, Joe was passionate about teaching and spent his career at Louisa Middle School, where he made a lasting impact on countless students.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years Stephanie Denise Wellman Halfhill; children Joseph A. Halfhill, III (Zoe Phillips), Kennedy Wiley-Halfhill (Jacob Iman), Emma Sue Halfhill (Isaiah Kitchen), Dylan Curtis Sizemore (Mikka), and Kolten Dean; grandchildren Mason Alexander Iman, Malakai Ireland Halfhill, and Augus Sizemore; siblings Marcella Halfhill, Zella Stambaugh (Chuck), and Gail Webster (David); and special friends Steve Little and John Thompson.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Smokey Valley Enterprise Baptist Church with Brother Joey Cecil officiating.
Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Halfhill and his family.
