INDICTMENT STEMS FROM RECENT ARREST  INVOLVING THE SUSPECT’S GIRLFRIEND FINDING SEXUALLY EXPLICIT PHOTOS & VIDEOS OF HER DAUGHTER ON THE MAN’S PHONE

JULY 3, 2024 – written by WADE QUEEN

CHILD SEX PORN CREEP AND REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER JASON RYAN CAMPBELL, 45, OF HAGER HILL, KENTUCKY WAS ALREADY IN BIG TROUBLE (AGAIN), NOW FINDS HIMSELF IN MAJOR DEEPER TROUBLE, AFTER HE HAS NOW BEEN INDICTED FEDERAL CHILD PORN CHARGES BY A FEDERAL GRAND JURY IN PIKEVILLE, KY.

A Johnson County man who was arrested back in May after his girlfriend found explicit pictures and videos of her daughter on his phone has now been indicted in federal court.

Jason Ryan Campbell, 45, of Hager Hill, was arrested May 24, 2024, by Kentucky State Police, after the girlfriend turned the phone over to police. On the phone, troopers reported finding a hidden folder containing hundreds of photos and videos of young girls, including the woman’s daughter.

Last week, a federal grand jury in U.S. District Court in Pikeville, KY., indicted Jason Campbell on three counts of producing child pornography between 2022 and 2024, as well as one count of possession of child porn. The indictment accuses him of coercing a number of underage girls of having sexually explicit pictures and filmed videos taken of themselves.

The federal charge of producing child pornography federal charge typically carries a potential sentence of 15 to up to 30 years in prison if convicted, but that can be increased to 25 to 50 years, if the defendant has a previous sexual abuse conviction. Jason Ryan Campbell was previously convicted of first-degree sexual abuse of a 12-year-old in Floyd County back in 2010 and was given a five-year suspended no prison sentence.

James Ryan Campbell continues to be held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, in Paintsville, KY., as he also still faces state commonwealth charges, and is very likely to be indicted by the Johnson County Grand Jury in the near-future.
