Man arrested after assaulting female with hammer and pliers
JOHNSON CO., KY — A Johnson County man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman with a hammer and pliers. According to the arrest citation, police were dispatched to Honey Lane in Stambaugh, KY in reference to an assault complaint.
Upon arrival, police say that a female was having trouble walking around outside, she could hardly speak and had several wounds to her face, hands, legs and mouth. A resident at the house advised that suspect Joshua Caudill 27, was in a building out behind the house asleep. Johnson County Sheriff Deputies made entry into the building and found Caudill, laying on a bed and appeared to be passed out.
After detaining Caudill and performing a search, deputies found a handgun in his back pocket, the pliers and hammer that the victim claimed that Caudill assaulted her with, drug paraphernalia, as well as two motorcycles that had been reported stolen. Caudill was charged with strangulation 1st degree, assault 1st degree, receiving stolen property, drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and transported to the Big Sandy Detention Center. The female victim was taken to Paul B Hall and then flown to Pikeville Medical Center for treatment of her wounds.
