LOUISA, Ky. — Lawrence Co. Clerk Chris Jobe released the Sample Ballot for the May 19, 2026 Primary election today and it looks awkward. Because it is GOP only, except for the U.S. Senate where there are no other Democrat races this year.
Pivotal magistrate races, and the hottest race for county judge executive head the local ticket.
The ballot has several unheard of candidates for U.S. Senate trying to win the GOP nod for replacing Mitch McConnell. Five are running for U.S. Congress trying to unseat E. Ky. institution Hal Rogers.
Non partisan races such as city council, Mayor, and Board of Education candidates will have until June to sign up to run in the November General election.
