James W. Young “Bo”, age 66, of Louisa, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, at his long-time residence following an illness.
Bo was born on June 15, 1960, in Louisa, Kentucky, to Billy Ray Young and Matilda “Tillie” Young. He grew up in Louisa alongside his siblings and spent most of his life providing for his family through hard work and dedication.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Young; his mother, Matilda Young; his brother, Billy Young Jr. “Corky”; and his nephew, John D. Moore.
Bo is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Lenora I. Young (Mullins); his children, Angela Mullins of Louisa, Andrea (Eddie) Lyons of Louisa, and Eric (Jennifer) Young of Louisa; his grandchildren, Jasmine Mullins and her significant other Preston Smith, Christopher Mullins and his significant other Georgia Schrack, Brayden “Wes” (Josie) Mullins, Dylan (Alexea) Vanhoose, Ava Lyons, Abigail Young, Ella Young, Ashby Lyons, and Iris Young; and his great-grandchildren, Layla Mullins, Braelynn Hatcher, Kolten Mullins-Shannon, Breyden Marcum, Brynlea Marcum, Bodhi Vanhoose, Dean Vanhoose, and Lexi Stambaugh. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathryn Compton, Cynthia (Dan) Wade, Deborah (Charles) Coldiron and Barbara Gray, 3 special brothers in laws Everett “Cigar” Lyons, Robert Musick and Richard (Kelly) Robinette along with a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
Bo was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished being surrounded by his family. He loved watching his grandbabies play, telling jokes and making people laugh, having family get-togethers, playing guitar, riding his four-wheeler in the woods, and camping. His family will remember him most for his deep love, his wonderful sense of humor, his strong work ethic, and his unwavering dedication to those he cared for.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Young Cemetery. Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Young and his family.
