James Ralph Burton, Sr., 78, of Blaine, KY passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Burton was born December 18, 1939 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Herbert and Alverta Griffith Burton.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Burton; one son, James Ralph Burton, Jr.; three daughters, Melody Lee, Carolynn Joann Templeman, and Sherry Wade; two brothers, Rodney Burton and Bob Burton; and two sisters, Brenda Burton and Carlotta Bell. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, James Franklin Burton, Kevin Michael Burton, James Jordan Burton, Cameron Jackson Templeman, Daniel Langshire, Dakota James Lee, Megan Jewell Templeman, and Carissa Nicole Hayes, and a great granddaughter, Lila Stuckey, and a great grandson on the way.
Mr. Burton was a United States veteran of the Army, Airforce, and Marine Corps having served during the Vietnam era. He was also a member of Cordell FWB Church, and a retired school bus driver for Lawrence County Schools.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Point Pleasant Enterprise Baptist Church in Flat Gap, KY with Rev. Rodney King & Rev. Delbert Music officiating. Burial will follow in the Skaggstown Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, December 11 after 4:00 PM at the Point Pleasant Enterprise Baptist Church.
