…On Monday March 21, 2022 Chairman of the Lawrence County School Board Heath Preston announced that his family has decided to start a scholarship called “Jacob’s Ladder” with $500. The scholarship is in honor of Jacob Fletcher who died recently leaving a void in the regional as well as local communities. The new scholarship is for seniors graduating and going on to college or Vocational-Technical schools. Dr. Robbie Fletcher, Superintendent and Jacob’s Dad, stated that he has also received $1,500 that will be turned over to “Jacob’s Ladder” Scholarship Fund. So the scholarship will start out with $2,000 and can be broken into smaller increments for scholarships in years to come. ‘Jacob’s Ladder Memorial Scholarship’ is named in Honor of Jacob Fletcher LCHS Graduate who passed but will be remembered through this scholarship.
Heath Preston, Chairman of LC School Board said that any person or business can make donations to “Jacobs Ladder Memorial Scholarship” by stopping by the Board of Education or contact Heath Preston personally.

LCHS Band Director Scott Smith introduced the K-Prep Band students for great accomplishments this year.
The LCHS FFA was also In attendance at the LC School Board Meeting, they were recognized and celebrated FFA week in Lawrence County, Kentucky. The LC Judge-Executive Phil Carter signed a proclamation on February 15, 2022 designating February 19-26, 2022 as National FFA Week.
