Ingeburg Untekoefler Pigmon woke up in the arms of her Lord on October 18th, 2024 at the age of 94.

Inge was born on February 19th, 1930 in Mannheim-Freudenheim, Germany to the late Franz Johann Albert and Margareta Jekel Unterkoefler. Inge lived in Germany through the horror of WW2 during her childhood and into young adulthood, when she met and married her beloved husband, Elmer J. Pigmon, a post war US GI. Having learned English from magazines, she was working at a movie theater frequented by US Servicemen and this is where they met. They were married in Mannheim-Freudenheim before moving to the USA in 1948, where a few years later Inge became a US citizen.

A life-well lived, Inge was a faithful, active member of First Methodist Church of Louisa for more than 75+ years, still attending virtually when she could no longer be there in person.

Inge is preceded in death by her parents and husband, her sister Erna (Fred) Goertz and an older sister and brother she will be meeting for the first time in heaven, and two sons-in-law Thomas Norviel and Philip Short.

She is survived by her daughters Marguerita Norviel and Romana Short; nephew Wolfgang (Anna) Goertz; Great-Nephew Stephan Goertz and is children Yannick and Jasmine, grandchildren Jerusha (Matthias) Zaragoza, Jordan Norviel, Philana (Jacob) Mertz, and Caleb Short;  her great-grandchildren; Baylor, Avery, Lorelei, and Aurelia Zaragoza; Rémy Short; Naomi, Elspeth, and Abraham Mertz;  and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at First Methodist Church with Pastor Tammy Smith and Jody Vansickle officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Monday, October 21, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Young Funeral Home and Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First Methodist Church.
