Howard A. Cossin (Bud), 91, of Zephyrhills, FL passed away peacefully into the arms of his loving Savior on Friday, March 22, 2024.
Having a heart of gold, he lived his life well, loved well, & never met a stranger. Born January 20, 1933 in Columbus, OH to Howard & Arla Cossin. From 1953-1957, Howard served in the US Air Force, stationed in Japan & served in the Korean War. In September of 2022, he joined the 116th Honor Flight. Howard worked at Federal Glass 24 years before they closed then later retired from Owens Illinois. He was a member of the VFW & 33rd Mason Shriners. Bud & Chris spent most of their lives in the antique business. They owned The Coffee Mill in Canal Winchester & Farm House Antiques in Circleville.
He wasn’t only a big Ohio State Fan, he also loved history. The home they purchased in Circleville held significant Indian history, so he dove in to learn everything he could. The family will hold precious memories of him playing the mandolin, Vivian on the accordian, & Mike with the guitar as family & friends sang. He loved bluegrass, old style country music & was not often seen without a newspaper, & a crossword puzzle watching his gameshows.
He made memories with his family at the family cabin in Cow Run, WV. That outhouse will never be the same.
Howard is proceeded in death by his parents, sisters Margaret Hayes, Jean Boyle, Vivian Fitzgerald, daughter Michelle, & nephew that was like a brother, Michael Fitzgerald. He is survived by his beautiful bride of 64 years, Christine, whom he adored. His sons Richard Cossin (Marsha) of Chillicothe, OH and Michael Cossin (Lynn), of Lewisburg, NC. His grandchildren, Amy Francis (Greg) of Londonderry, OH, Kara Morrow (Matt) of Waverly, OH, & Jack Cossin of Lewisburg, NC.
Howard was also blessed to have 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He had many nieces, nephews, cousins, & lifelong friends who he loved dearly.
Friends may visit the family on Friday, March 29, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Young Funeral Home Chapel. Masonic services will begin at 11:45 AM, with funeral services at 12:00 PM with Pastor Dan Smith officiating.
