December 4th, 1940 — September 1st, 2026

Homer Bentley Jr, 85 of Louisa, Ky went home to be with the Lord on September 1st, 2026.
Born on December 4th, 1940. He was a dedicated father, step-father, grandfather (“gramps”), and great-grandfather. Homer was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Bentley and Opal Bentley; siblings Verlin Bentley and Pauline Bentley Moore; first wife and mother of his sons, Barbara Bentley; second wife and mother of his step-son, Shirley Sammons Bentley; and grandson James Adam Sammons.
Homer is survived by his two sons, Greg (Connie) Bentley and Dave Bentley; step-son David (Vickie) Sammons; sister, Maxine Crider; grandchildren, David (Holly) Sammons II, Megan (Craig) Meade and Riley Sammons; and great-grandchildren, David Sammons III and Jenna Sammons.
Homer, lovingly known as Gramps, was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple things in life, especially spending time with the people he loved. His family meant everything to him, and he cherished every moment spent together. He loved fishing with his family and would get so excited when someone wanted to plan a fishing day. Gramps was also incredibly talented with his hands and had a gift for building things. Whether it was a swing for the porch or a bookshelf for his granddaughter, he could turn an idea into something meaningful and lasting. His kindness, hard work and love for his family will be deeply missed, but the things he built and the memories he created will continue to live on through those who knew and loved him. He loved to take pictures of his family and everywhere he went, he always had his camera ready. Homer retired from Louisa Coca-Cola after 50 years of service.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charles Price officiating. Burial will follow at Yatesville Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit the family Saturday, September 5, 2026 from 11:00 AM until time of service in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Bentley and his family.
