HIGH SCHOOL: Volleyball set to begin Sept. 7
Floyd Central is set to open defense of its 15th Region volleyball championship when area schools return to action on Sept. 7.
The Lady Jaguars will open at Betsy Layne on Sept. 8.
Floyd Central was 30-8 one year ago, beating Pike County Central in the finals at East Ridge.

The Prestonsburg Blackcats are set to open defense of their 15th Region boys soccer championship when area schools return to action on Sept. 7.
The Blackcats, who finished 19-3-2, falling in the state tournament in double overtime to East Carter, opens on the road at Martin County on Sept. 8.
