Annual Lawrence County 4-H 5K Walk/Run will follow EXPO

9:00 AM — 11:30 a.m
The Lawrence County Health Action Team is excited to announce the 2016 Health & Wellness Expo which will take place on April 16 at the Community Center on Bulldog Lane in Louisa.
This will be the 6th year for the Expo, which offers local vendors and local residents a chance to connect for more healthy and active lifestyles.
Free health screenings will be provided by Three Rivers Medical Center, along with physical therapy demonstrations, gardening exhibits, cooking demonstrations and other activities. Free information on diabetes, cancer, WIC, family planning, veterans’ services, dental care, tobacco cessation, hospice and many other kinds of health care will also be provided. The Expo will be broadcast live on MyTownTV and on YouTube!
At the conclusion of the Health & Wellness Expo, the annual Lawrence County 4-H 5K Walk/Run will take place, leaving from the Community Center at 12:30 p.m. Deadline for pre-registration for the race will be April 7, and is $20 for adults and $10 for youth (up to age 19). Those pre-registering will also receive a free race t-shirt. Late registration will begin at 12 Noon on April 16 at the front entrance of the Community Center, and will be $25 for adults and $15 for youth (up to age 19). There is no guarantee of t-shirts for late registration.
The Health & Wellness Expo has something for all ages. There will be free food, and door prizes will be awarded. Bring the family and come out to the Community Center on April 16 from 9 until 11:30 a.m. and see what all our area has to offer. It is even rumored that there may be some “special visitors”.
