Grayson Welcome Center Closed for Repairs
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 13, 2023) – The Grayson Welcome Center in Carter County, located on Interstate Highway 64 westbound at mile marker 173, is temporarily closed due to renovations that began October 23.
Since its official opening in May 1983, the Grayson Welcome Center has been a source of hospitality for visitors to the area. The repairs will enhance the experience for tourists by providing upgrades to the restroom, tourism lobby and the janitorial area in addition to exterior improvements. Renovations are expected to last at least five months.
Kentucky has seven welcome centers located across the commonwealth on the four major interstates. Welcome centers offer visitors travel consultations, itineraries and free Kentucky maps and brochures. The facilities are open daily 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
