It is always amazing to see the love and commitment to helping others that have either fallen on hard times or are just not as fortunate as others in our small communities. So many organizations in our county go above and beyond to make sure every family has the traditional feast called Thanksgiving.
In Blaine this happens year-round and certainly doesn’t deserve to be known for a situation that had a bad outcome. Rachel Wheeler, founder and Gods Hands Ministry
Lawrence County Food Bank was pleased to be able to hand out 110 complete Thanksgiving food boxes.
These where made possible by a large donation from 9 north white (Quarters crossing boarders) program. President Rachel Wheeler said this was “only possible because of the hard work that everyone involved puts in heavy boxes and long hours volunteering in the heat and cold.”
“We have a wonderful group that wants to help the people in our little town. We know most families personally and it’s a blessing to be able to help in a way that most people take for granted,” Ms. Wheeler said. “I love to do events or volunteering here in the Blaine area, it’s our home and our town and we love it. Our next event is coming up the 1st of December at the Blaine Community Center it will be our annual candy cane hunt for the kids.”
Happy Thankgiving 2018 to every Lawrence Countian from the Levisa Lazer. May your hearts be as full as your plates.
