BSCTC, Commonwealth Educational Opportunity Center to offer free FAFSA assistance at Prestonsburg Kentucky Career Center on November 10
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. – Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) and the Commonwealth Educational Opportunity Center (CEOC) will provide free assistance for the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, November 10 at the Kentucky Career Center, located at 686 North Lake Drive in Prestonsburg. “We are proud to partner with the Commonwealth Educational Opportunity Center and the Kentucky Career Center to bring this opportunity to the community,” said Billie Jean Cole, director of enrollment management at BSCTC. “For many, the FAFSA can be a daunting process, but we’ll be on hand to explain the process and assist people in completing their application.”
This year, federal guidelines pushed the start date of the application to October 1. The deadline was created to better align with college admission dates.
BSCTC has financial aid staff on its Prestonsburg, Pikeville and Mayo campuses Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The college offers 30 programs and more than 200 credentials. Spring classes start January 9.
