For The Sixth Consecutive Time Lawrence County Cal Ripken 8U All-Stars Are District 3 Champions

Prestonsburg, Ky. — Lawrence County 8U goes 4-0 to win the Cal Ripken All-Stars District 3 Championship this past week at Stonecrest Sports Park. 

Team Roster:

Sawyer Laney, Case Fitzpatrick, Gentry Bowen, Cory Keeton, Noah Young, Oakley Pack, Marcus Bowen, Grayson Jude, Blake Lemaster, Jace Newsome, Jase Rollins, and Dossen Sturgell.

Coaching Staff:

Shane Pack, Brad Laney, Casey Fitzpatrick, Jason Rollins, Marcus Bowen, and Bobby Keeton.

On Saturday the squad had to win two games in a row to secure the championship.

In the semifinals Saturday morning they took care of Martin County 13-9 to advance to the title game.

Right after the semifinal game they played back to back for the Championship and came away with a dominating 11-3 victory over Pikeville to capture the title.

In pool play on Friday it was Lawrence Co. beating Johnson County 16-1.

In the first game of pool play on Thursday Lawrence Co. squeaked by host Floyd County by the score of 4-3.

Lawrence County has won the 8U Division District title 6 years in a row.
