To Our Lawrence County Family:
Earlier this morning, the Louisa Middle School administration received an anonymous bomb threat. We immediately evacuated the building and contacted local authorities as well as the Kentucky State Police. After a thorough assessment of the building, we were given the “all-clear” to move students back to class shortly after 10 AM.
First and foremost, I applaud the students and staff of Louisa Middle School and other school staff members. They quickly and orderly evacuated the building. Students were well-behaved and cooperative during the event. Also, I appreciate the short response time of the Kentucky State Police team, the Lawrence County Sheriff and Louisa City officers, our fire department volunteers, and all other first responders who were on the scene. Finally, thank you to our community for the trust that you have in us to provide a safe environment for our children.
To close, there were two text messages and alerts that were sent using our Apptegy system to Louisa Middle parents/guardians during the event. If you are a Louisa Middle parent and did not receive a text message or an alert, then we do not have your phone information in our records. (It is the same system that we use for school cancellations.) If you would like to add a phone number to our records, please call the front office of your school.
As always, we sincerely thank you for being…
All In,
Dr. Robbie Fletcher, Superintendent
