COACH’S COMMENTS
“…Can’t say in words how proud I am of those 2 guys. Obviously when your team has the kind of success this team had, you’ve got several guys that performed at a very high level. Fortunately these two guys were selected to be on the all state ballot. We certainly felt we had more guys deserving but those things are out of our control. So to have a guy on 2nd team (Jackson) and 3rd team (CJ) is a huge deal. I don’t recall ever having two guys off one team represent LCHS on all state team since our 2008 State Runner up team that had multiple guys.
“… Jackson and CJ are two special players in our program that had remarkable seasons on the field. Their numbers speak for themselves. Jackson led the entire state of KY in HRs and was top 5 in RBIs. The things he’s done to a baseball all spring I’m not sure I’ve coached another kid that has hit the ball with such violence. CJs offensive numbers were out of this world, too. Was right at the top in the state in runs scored, OBP% as well as providing some serious power at the top of our lineup.”
“… Both guys did a tremendous job for us defensively playing multiple positions demonstrating the flexibility this team needed based on pitching. Jackson and CJ had huge years for us on the mound as well.”
“… Again just really proud of what they’ve accomplished this year and look forward to their senior campaign.”
