GOLDEN ALERT STILL IN EFFECT: FRANCES BYRD, 72, WHO IS  STILL HAS BEEN MISSING SINCE TUESDAY, JUNE 11, AFTER BEING CHECKED OUT OF FROM A CARTER COUNTY, KENTUCKY NURSING HOME BY A FAMILY MEMBER AGAINST MEDICAL ADVICE

A family is searching for answers after their elderly matriarch went missing in early last week
According to the Carter County Sheriff’s Office, they said a Golden Alert was issued on Friday, June 14, for Frances Byrd, 72, who was signed out of a nursing and rehabilitation center by a family member against medical advice. Officials said she was “not in her right mind when she left.

Frances Byrd was last seen in the Cedar Run area of Carter County. She was seen leaving a home in a “newer white color passenger car” on Tuesday, June 11, according to deputies.

She is described as 5 feet 3 and weighs about 240 pounds; and that she has white hair, and was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, blue sweatpants, slippers, and has a walker.

Charity Barker, who is the daughter-in-law of Frances Byrd, said that she suffers from several health conditions, with Mrs. Barker stating her mother-in-law’s disappearance has shaken their family.

“It’s just unimaginable. I just feel like we’re in a dream, and we won’t wake up. It’s completely out of character for Franny, my mother-in-law,” Charity Barker said. “When we didn’t hear from her, we just knew something inside was not right.”

Frances Byrd’s family proclaimed she’s known for her big heart.

“She’s a loving woman. She would never do anything to harm anyone. She would always give you her last dollar if she had one,” accoring to Charity Barker.

Charity Barker gave an urgent appeal for help to find Frances Byrd as soon as possible, with each passing day of not knowing where she is or how her health conditions are, all of which is causing deepening concerns and strains on the family of Frances Byrd.

“If you see something or know something, then please, it could be the smallest detail that could turn into the biggest lead. Don’t think that it’s nothing,” Charity Barker said.

Anyone with information about Frances Byrd’s whereabouts, you are asked to call Carter County 911 at 606-474-6222, or that you can call your local 911.
