Fallsburg Fearplex where your Halloween fun begins! If you’re a thrill seeker or just like a good haunted house, Fearplex is for you. People come from all around to see what’s in store for this year and it’s better than ever!
This year after you buy your tickets while you stand in line there is a new magician act with his lovely assistant to keep you amazed. P & J Trailer travels throughout the United States performing tricks such as “The Bed of Nails, knife throwing, fire dancing and more”.
Once you have your tickets and your group is ready the scare is on.
They have several attractions to go thru and plenty of obstacles and terrifying employees that jump out from everywhere making you jump, scream and wonder what’s around the next corner. The group we were in included four people from Grayson, Ky. Debbie Wallace, Martha Wilburn, Roy Wilburn and friend. They said “this was their first time to the Fearplex and loved it. Well worth the money and travel.”
Fallsburg Fearplex was started in 1987 as a volunteer haunt to raise money for the P.T.A. and was organized by Wanda Cassady. Since then it’s been ran by several different groups thru the years. In 2010 Brian Cassady bought the property and opened in 2011. Every year since then they have been adding on and building a strong fan base. Fearplex was selected as “A Must See Haunt” by Haunted Attraction Magazine.
Mr. Cassady commented, “We have an ambitious 5 year plan and will implement some of the improvements each year and will still fully support the community center and the kids in the school system when we can. Most of all the parking money is set back for donations to buy banners, etc. Also have a pretty good things going on helping kids at Fallsburg who may not have enough money to buy extra things such as frozen cokes and whatever else a fundraiser might sell to kids.”
There were approximately 2,500 people show up this past weekend but the Fearplex has hit numbers as high as 4,500. Currently they employee 90 people during operation and have one full time employee who details and builds props all year long.
