On January 30th, 2018 at approximately 3:30 pm the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responded to a unattended death on Highway 1 just outside Fallsburg.
Upon arrival it was discovered that Jessie Frasher, 76 of Louisa was deceased due to a gunshot wound. At that time the coroner was notified and responded to the scene.
After the initial investigation by the agencies foul play is not suspected.
The investigation is ongoing by the Lawrence County Coroner’s Officer and the Sheriff’s Office.
UPDATE: February 1, 2018 (4:00 pm.)
Upon further investigation and with information received by the Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner’s Office the shooting on Highway 1 has been ruled as accidental.

Lawrence Co. Coroner Mike Wilson said Mr. Frasher, a gun collector, was retrieving a shotgun from a stack of guns and accidentally pulled the trigger, shooting himself in the face.
