Registration deadline to vote in general election is Tuesday
FRANKFORT, KY. — Kentucky residents planning to vote in the Nov. 6 general election have until Tuesday to register.
Lawrence County Clerk Chris Jobe said those eligible to vote must be 18 before the election. Jobe said a person should register to vote because it gives them a voice and a say in what goes on in their county, as well as their state and country.
A number of races will be on the November ballot.
“I encourage everyone to register,” Jobe said. ” Many men and women have given their service to our country to give us the freedom to vote. And we need to exercise that freedom to vote.”
Jobe said Kentucky law makes it “so easy” for residents to vote. To vote, residents go to their precinct polling place between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. local time on election day.
Votes also can be cast via an absentee ballot. To find out if they qualify for an absentee ballot, residents can call their local county clerk’s office or residents also can stop by the office.
Kentucky residents can also register online. Go to https://vrsws.sos.ky.gov/ovrweb/default to register.
