DAWGS LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK AFTER TOUGH THREE GAME STRETCH

Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. ( 18-9 ) missed a last second three pointer and dropped a 77-75 contest against Pike Co. Central ( 16-9 ) on Saturday afternoon.

The Dawgs had a couple chances late in the contest but couldn’t cash in against the Hawks. 

Luke Fetherolf with the tough basket against #22 Peyton Marcum of Wayne 

Hayden Perry led Lawrence Co. with 26 points, Kaiden Harris tallied 24 points, Gunnar Woods added 12 points, Luke Fetherolf netted 11 points, Kaden Johnson chipped in with 4 points. 

The Dawgs went 13 of 20 from the free throw line and hit 6 three pointers.

The Dawgs played one of the best teams around for three quarters before the Tomcats ( 18-7 ) pulled away. 

Gunnar Woods with the three pointer against Wayne. 

Gunnar Woods hit 4 three pointers and scored a team high 28 points, Hayden Perry added 16 points, Kaden Johnson tallied 12 points, Kaiden Harris netted 11 points, Luke Fetherolf chipped in with 2 points. 

The Bulldogs hit 7 of 12 free throws and knocked down 6 three pointers. 

Wayne ( W. Va. ) 92 Lawrence Co. 87 ( Monday ) 

In a high scoring affair the Pioneers ( 13-3 ) downed the Bulldogs in the Dawg Pound.

The Dawgs were led by Kaiden Harris who hit 4 three pointers and finished with 36 points, Luke Fetherolf and Gunnar woods tallied 14 points each, Hayden Perry added 10 points, Kaden Johnson netted 7 points and Caden Muncy chipped in with 6 points. 

Lawrence Co. hit 8 three pointers and went 19 of 21 from the free throw line. 

Wayne was led by Issac Meddings with 29 points, Ronnie Staley had 21 points, Landon Preece had 19 points, Colton Heck had 8 points, Colton Preece 7 points, Cooper Adkins 6 points and Peyton Marcum 2 points.

The Pioneers hit 5 three pointers and went 13 of 17 from the free throw line.

The Dawgs will hit the road for their final two games of the regular season with trips to Fairview ( 4-19 ) on Tuesday and Raceland (  18-8 ) on Wednesday.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… We have had a tough 3 game stretch here but there are a lot of things to learn from those 3 losses. At times in those games, we played really well. That is something we can build off of as we head into post season play. The last week of regular season is this week, hopefully we can fine tune some things and make a run starting next week!”
